Department of Safety Division of Motor Vehicle Delays VISION Software Implementation

URGENT: Department of Safety Division of Motor Vehicles has delayed the implementation of their new VISION software system. The Town Clerk CAN process your Motor Vehicle registrations normally today 2/21/2017.

"Good afternoon agents,

We regret to inform you that the DMV will be delaying its implementation of the VISION system. Over this past week, we have been performing regular tests to ensure that we were ready for the transition. Based on the tests and final assessments performed today, we were not confident that the software would perform as expected, and proceeding with the planned implementation could result in the interruption of services to our customers and increased wait times.

Please know that this decision was not made lightly and we understand the implications of this decision on your offices. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. Although we do not have a new date scheduled yet, we will ensure that we provide you with a 30-day notice in advance of the new date.

We understand that those of you using municipal software may have already updated your systems in anticipation of VISION implementation this weekend. Please contact your software provider as soon as possible to coordinate the roll back to the original version.

As always, our agent help desk staff will be available to assist you with any questions you may have.

All DMV offices are now scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, February 21st."
