Message from Unitil - Rain and Wind Event

Unitil is currently preparing in advance of a wind and rain event expected to impact the region Thursday evening and into Friday. According to the most recent forecast, as much as 1-1.5 inches of rain are possible throughout the region along with wind gusts of 40-45 miles per hour. Gusts approaching 50 mph are possible in coastal areas as well. While not as severe as the rain and wind event from earlier this month, some scattered outages and wires down issues are possible should the higher-end wind gusts currently forecasted occur.

Based on the current forecast, Unitil does not plan to open its Emergency Operations Center, but we are mindful that tomorrow night is Halloween and are reaching out proactively to share our forecast for planning purposes. Crews will be standing by, and we will be closely monitoring the storm as it approaches and are prepared to escalate our response if conditions warrant doing so.

As a reminder, during storm events the most up to date information about the number of customers affected by outages including town-by-town customer information can be found on our website at http://www.unitil.com/map.  We also encourage you to follow our storm updates via our Twitter feed (@Unitil).
