Notice of Preliminary Assessment Values

Boscawen Taxpayers,

Every five years the Town is required have a town-wide revaluation completed to update home assessments to fair market value. A Notice of Preliminary Assessment Values will be mailed out to all property owners which will show updated land value, buildings and features, and the total parcel value. 

The Notice of Preliminary Assessment Values outlines the process to view your property record online, access resources to understand information on your property card, as well as information on making an appointment for a phone interview with a member of Avitar Associates if you feel an error exists in the updated valuation or details for your property.

The informal review phone appointments will only be available during the timeframe listed below, additional days may be added, if needed:

  • Tuesday, August 15, 2023 between 8:00am - 4:00pm
  • Wednesday, August 16, 2023 between 8:00am - 4:00pm

The Planning & Community Development department can assist with the online process, however, we are unable to answer any questions on the specific assessment updates.

Please Note: The newly established values will be implemented on the December 2023 tax bill. **Estimating your next tax bill by multiplying the new assessment and the old tax rate will produce an erroneous tax amount. The tax rate will drop proportionally to the increase in assessed values. The updated tax rate will be set this fall.
